Terms of service

Last updated: 7 November 2026. These are the plain-English terms for working with Groundwork, a trading name of Finlay Inwards. Before any work starts, we confirm your package, price and dates by email. That email and these terms together make up our agreement.

Price and payment

Prices are fixed and shown on our website. There's no VAT to add while we're not VAT-registered. You pay half when you book and half when your site goes live. If we miss the live date we agreed, and the delay is our fault, you don't pay the second half.

What we need from you

A short call, your business details, any photos you want used, and replies to our questions. The seven-day timescale starts once we have these. If we're waiting on you, the timescale moves with it.

Changes

Two rounds of changes are included before your site goes live. After that, small changes are covered by the hosting & care plan, and bigger changes are quoted separately in advance.

Ownership

Once you've paid in full, the website design, words and code we made for you belong to you. Your domain is registered in your name. You're responsible for making sure anything you send us, such as photos and logos, is yours to use.

Hosting & care

Hosting & care is optional and billed monthly. Cancel any time by email, with no notice period. When you leave, we'll send you your site files and help move your domain.

Things we can't promise

We build sites the way search engines and AI assistants prefer, but nobody controls their results. We don't guarantee rankings, recommendations or a number of enquiries.

Liability

If something goes wrong because of our work, our total liability is limited to the amount you've paid us. This doesn't limit anything the law doesn't allow us to limit.

Law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
